my weekend

Saturday night I got to meet Duda's parents! And her aunt and uncle...and her best friends parents. That's right, 6 of them came from Brazil here to travel Europe and to see the wonderful Duda! =) We had a barbeque that night at Duda's host famiy house(my 2nd house) and it was nothing short of interesting. My host family(Dudas first family) and my first host family(dudas 2nd)were also there. I have had a nice look into Brazilian culture already through Duda and all of the other exchange students in my district, but for some the Germans it was a different story(my first host family). I think up until this weekend, they thought that Duda was just especially loud and outgoing. Turns out....it's not just her. hehe. I love when eyes are opened. =)

Dudas dad and her host dad(my 2nd host dad) bonded quite well. They are actually quite the pair. haha hilarious. Always knew Rüdiger was Brazilian at heart. =)

Sunday morning I went with my host parents to the castle in Wolfsburg to a concert. It was actually really entertaining. They were called Venusbrass and it was a group of 5 women playing the drums, the bass drum, the saxophone, the tuba, and the trombone. They were so energetic and looked like they were having so fun. They added jokes and funny little things to their show as well. Afterwards we went home and I made brownies. Everyone liked them....my host dad ate like 10. haha. I took some to school today and everyone was asking me to write down the recipe for them. I tried to explain that I made them out of a box, but they didn't get it. Ahh the culture differences.

Well, not much has been going on lately. My host sister is gone this weekend at a concert festival. So.....last night Stephanie came over and we had a Gillmore Girls marathon and a quart of Häagen Daaz. It was pretty fun.

Tonight I am going to meet Duda's parents. It should be very interesting.

I don't have any big plans for this week. Next weekend is our last Rotex meeting. It's going to be sooo sad because a majority of my friends won't be there. The weekend after that we are having a Heiratsmarkt, which is a huge party here in one of the little villages where you can get "married" to someone for 24 hours. The weekend after that is our going away huuuuge party, and then the next weekend I am packing all of my things already.

Time went so fast.
